3 Reasons to Catch It Before It Falls
I’ve been on a bit of a summer hiatus with kids out of school, travel and a fun-filled social schedule, but I just celebrated my 39th birthday and I can’t think of a better reason to get back at it!
When I woke up on my birthday, I felt so grateful for my beautiful boys, adoring husband, loving parents, close friends and especially my good health. I’m thrilled to be able torun relay races, swim in the open water, bike 50+ miles and hike steep mountains.
Good health is something that I don’t take for granted though, because it’s a gift. On a 6AM bike ride and soul session with a good friend recently, we chatted about how important it is to keep the grueling workouts going to maintain this gift of great health and our youthful ways. The conversation reminded me of an inspirational phrase I heard a female celebrity use when I was a little girl which was you’ve got to “Catch It Before it Falls”.
I realized that this has always been one of my mantras…a driving force that helps me to continue to eat well and set my alarm for 5:30 AM so that I can get a workout in before the day begins. For me, catching “it” can mean doing tricep dips to avoid flabby arms, slathering on moisturizer every morning and night to prevent wrinkles or steering clear of processed foods so that I can maintain a slim waistline.
So, what does this mean for you? In short, don’t wait until “it” falls. Get off your ass, and start taking extra care of you today.
3 Reasons to Catch it Before It Falls:
1. Because No One Else is Going to Catch It. Stop blaming those extra lbs. on other people or outside forces. If you don’t get up and move that body and put healthy foods in your tank, you are not going to fit into your favorite clothes. Plain and simple.
2. You Only Have One Life. You were born blessed with a beautiful body and life. Make the most of what you were born with – treat your body like a temple so you can walk out into the world and feel good about yourself EVERY SINGLE DAY of this gorgeous life you were given.
3. Your Face/Body are Part of Your Brand. The way you present yourself creates an impression on others. If you take care of your skin, hair, teeth, body, whatever it is, you project pride in yourself and exude confidence. So the next time you get ready for work or even to go to the grocery store, take care to think about how you are presenting yourself and what you want your brand to be! Whether you want to be the Lululemon of the playground Moms or Louis Vuitton with a dash of Target, own your brand, work your brand and be proud of what you created.
