Are You Ready for a Challenge?

I’m gearing up to participate as the local nutrition expert for the upcoming FLYWheel Sports “Countdown to Summer” Challenge. This is my third time partnering with them on a Challenge and I couldn’t be more excited. Why? Many reasons…I love me some FLYWheel, FLYBarre, almost anything that they do ignites a fire in my belly and yields excellent results. Add a “Challenge” to it and invite me to guide people through nutritional obstacles and I’m the happiest camper on the planet.

So what’s my point in bringing this up and what does it mean to you? Because if you don’t ever challenge yourself to give your fitness routine a fresh start and take it to the next level, chances are you are going to get stuck in a rut. If you do challenge yourself, your body will burn more calories which can lead to weight loss, which means fun clothes, oh and my favorite, confidence! That said, I’m challenging you to give your fitness routine a fresh start today.

Here are 3 easy ways to get started:

Find a challenge that you love, write down your goal and take the leap! It doesn’t need to be a designated “Challenge” program, but maybe it’s training to hike a steep mountain or do your first 5K. Find something that sounds fun and not grueling, set your goal and do it. You will feel GREAT!

Join a team. Find a group in your community that does something on a consistent (weekly basis) that you love and join them. Spending time doing something you love with like-minded people makes you happy, holds you accountable and keeps you moving in the right direction!

Try something new each month. Set a recurring date on your calendar each month and plan to try a new workout on that day. For example, if you are an avid runner, take a break from it and try cycling or boxing instead. That way, you’ll have something new to look forward to on a consistent basis and maybe even find something new to love.

Challenges can definitely knock you out of your comfort zone, but that’s the point. When contemplating a new challenge, ask yourself, what’s more exciting, seeing the results of your hard work or walking on the same treadmill all of your life?

In the words of my friends at FLYWheel, #NEVERCOAST.

Cheers to your health!
